Osteopathy
is a natural system of health care that uses a holistic approach to
musculoskeletal aches and pains. The musculoskeletal system
includes bones, muscles, joints, ligaments, tendons, discs, and
connective tissue. The
practitioner uses a highly evolved sense of touch to determine
tension and restrictions in the body, along with a detailed history
of the patient a diagnosis can be found. Osteopathic treatment aims
to reduce tension and restrictions thereby restoring balance and
reducing symptoms of pain or stiffness.
Anyone can benefit from osteopathy. Whether you are young or old, active or inactive, osteopathy is a gentle and effective way to relieve aches, pains and stiffness. Osteopathy is a gentle but effective practice that uses techniques such as manipulation and/or articulation of joints, also soft tissue stretching. The osteopath looks at the body as a whole, taking into account posture, work and lifestyle choices. With this information, the osteopath can work out a treatment and management plan suited to that individual. |
